This symposium is a case-based seminar designed for healthcare professionals involved in the diagnosis and management of hemostasis and thrombotic disorders.  Presented by leading experts, topics will include von Willebrand disease, biomarkers in cardiovascular disease, platelet abnormalities, anticoagulant and antiplatelet therapies, pediatric coagulation disorders and advances in point of care testing.

In addition to educational seminars, the Symposium offers access to the Exhibitor Showcase with leading-edge diagnostic, educational and treatment advances; networking breaks and cocktail reception; select meals and continuing education credit.

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of the program, participants should be able to:

1. Discuss the appropriate utilization & outcomes with new anticoagulants and antiplatelet therapies
2. Describe diagnosis of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, heparin-induced Thrombocytopenia and von Willebrand disease
3. Describe disorders of hemostasis in the context of pediatric health issues
4. Recognize appropriate utilization of biomarkers in cardiovascular disease
